Just five months shy of her 70th birthday, early onset Alzheimer’s disease took the life of Concha Salinas at her home in Pleasant Hill, CA on July 31, 2018. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roberto Salinas; two daughters, Andrea Salinas and Anna Cortez; three grandchildren, Alexander and Joshua Cortez and Amelia Ramey; and two sons-in-law, Cesar Cortez and Chris Ramey. After graduating from San Mateo High School in 1967, Concha went on to work for the Social Security Administration in San Francisco. She married Roberto in 1968 and shortly thereafter shifted careers to full-time homemaker, or “domestic engineer” as she would proudly state on her daughters’ elementary school enrollment forms. Once her daughters were in high school, she led an office of telephone market researchers for an NBC contractor. Her daughters will remember her as a mom with a big heart, their biggest cheerleader and a loving grandma. Roberto will remember Concha as his angel on earth, devoted spouse, lifelong companion and best friend. The funeral service and celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 8th, 10 am at the Oak Park Chapel, 3111 N. Main Street, Walnut Creek.
