Charles F. Roberts, Jr. Bridgewater- Charles F. Roberts, Jr. 85, died peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2018 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Son of the late Charles F. Roberts, Sr. and Doris (Holmes) Roberts, Charles was born in Plainfield and lived many years in North Plainfield before moving to Bridgewater 28 years ago. Charles was a U.S. Army Veteran who proudly served his country from 1953-1955. He was a 1959 graduate of Seton Hall University and worked as a printer for the Courier News in Bridgewater for 35 years retiring in 1997. Charles held the position of president of the Beacon Hill Homeowner’s Association for many years and was also a long suffering Rutgers fan. He is survived by his beloved children, Charles F. Roberts, III and wife, Janice of Whitehouse Station, NJ; Steven Lloyd Roberts and wife, Rose of Mountain Top, PA; David Blair Roberts of Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Joy DeChester of Spring Lake Heights, NJ; grandchildren, Kailey, Sarah, Steven, Emily; and longtime companion, Faith Delnero. Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Funeral services will be held 10AM on Friday, August 3, 2018 at the funeral home followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains, NJ.
