Life Story for Charles E. Richardson, Jr. CHARLES E. RICHARDSON JR., 75 of Fawn Grove, PA died on Monday, August 27, 2018 in Manor Care, Dallastown. He was the beloved husband of Ruth (Lowe) Richardson; they shared 35 years of marriage. Born in Baltimore, MD on February 16, 1943 he was a son of the late C. Everitt Richardson, Sr. and Esther (Tonge) Richardson and a graduate of Kennard Dale High School. Charlie was a member of the K-D Young Farmers and a lifetime member of Centre Presbyterian Church. A lifetime agricultural enthusiast and farmer by trade, Charlie grew up on the family farm “Fawn Valley Farm” alongside his parents and sister in the orchard, dairy and fields. He delivered produce, grain, did custom combining and had a great passion for cattle. He passed on his passion of farming and animals to his daughters by always taking the time for meetings and competitions for both 4-H & FFA activities. He was a longtime member of Fawn Grove Olde Tyme Days where he ran the peddle tractor pull competition. He enjoyed collecting IH tractors and memorabilia. He especially enjoyed participating in local tractor rides; however, his fondest memory was the Heritage Tractor Adventure Ride in IL. His daughters remarked that he had a deep love for family, helping others and was a devoted father and grandfather. After the cows were sold in 2004, Charlie went to work for Shrewsbury Concrete and later drove a concrete pump truck for Structural Concrete. In addition to his wife, he is survived by: Four daughters- Rebecca Richardson of Owings Mills, MD Susan Horswill of Brillion, WI Barbara (Jeremiah) Lowe of Mechanicsburg, PA Tracy (Andrew) Hulshart of Fawn Grove, PA A sister, Elizabeth (Alvin) Renwick of Elkton, MD Six grandchildren- Eli & Isaac Horswill Hayleigh, Scarlett and Savannah Lowe Emma Hulshart and baby boy Hulshart (arriving soon) Services will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Centre Presbyterian Church, 83 New Park Road, New Park, PA 17352 with a viewing from 10:00-12:00 followed immediately with the funeral service. Church pastor, Reverend Dr. Donald Hackett will officiate. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery with a luncheon to conclude the services in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Centre Presbyterian Church at the above address.
