Carl John Lensgraf Jr. 75, of West Burlington, died Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington, IA. Born April 5, 1943, in Pana IL, Carl was the only child of Dr. Carl John Lensgraf Sr. and Hazel (Eidsvik) Lensgraf. Carl graduated from the University of North Dakota in 1965 and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity EK #579 and attended the University of Oslo, Norway, for post graduate studies. He served in the US Navy from 1966-1969 to include the Naval Reserve. He began working in broadcasting part time, as a radio announcer for KNOX in Grand Forks, North Dakota, while attending the University of North Dakota. He was on-air in a number of markets including, Springfield, Illinois, Topeka, Kansas, Great Falls, Montana and Minneapolis, Minnesota where he was employed by WCCO AM-FM and KSTP. In 199 he joined KBUR/KGRS in Burlington and remained there until retirement in 2004. Carl loved radio, the music, the listeners, and all the fellow jocks he worked with at every station. Norweigian cousins; Tyrgve (Anne) Krogsater adn Mari (Knut) Lensegrav-Pederstad or Oslo, Norway. Friends Maureen Cahill and Paul Michel of Burlington and his cat, Frances. Carl requested no formal service. Interment will be in Pana, Illinois.
