Obituary of Burl McGlothin, Jr. Burl McGlothin, Jr., 83, Marion, went to be with the Lord at 12:47 p.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Bath County, Kentucky, to the late Burl and Dewey R. (Vance) McGlothin, Sr., on July 8, 1935. Burl graduated from Owingsville High School in Kentucky and served in the U.S Army from 1956-58. He married Lorena “Frances” Lucas on November 27, 1954. Burl retired from Thomson Consumer Electronics (formerly RCA), where he was an electrician, and was a member of West 8th St. Wesleyan Church. Burl enjoyed collecting coins and, after retirement, genealogy. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 64 years, Frances; son, Lyndon W. (Brenda) McGlothin, Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Misty L. McGlothin, Fort Wayne, and Christopher L. McGlothin, Fort Wayne; great-grandson, Cayden J. Hoffmaster; siblings, Wanda (Wayne) Wages, Kentucky, and Diana Thompson, Ohio; and several nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta McGlothin, and grandson, Andrew Scott McGlothin. The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Burl’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastors Ben Gray and Dan Van Cise will be officiating with burial following at Gardens of Memory. Online condolences may be made at www.nswcares.com.
