Obituary for Allen Eugene Gingrich Allen Eugene Gingrich, 62, of Grand Island passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at NE Heart Hospital in Lincoln. Memorial service and celebration of Allen’s life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Beacon of Hope Church, 2525 State St., Grand Island, NE 68803. Allen was born June 26, 1956 in Hastings, the son of Wilbur and Betty (Wekley) Gingrich. He graduated from West Kearney High School in 1973, moving to Grand Island in 2001. For the majority of his life, Allen was employed as a Journeyman Electrician. He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Grand Island. Allen enjoyed fishing, playing WOW with his daughter and Rock & Roll. His pride and joy was his vintage Harley-Davidson Shovelhead, second only to his beloved daughter, Mariah. Those left to cherish Allen’s memory include daughter, Mariah; his parents, Frank and Betty Schneider of Grand Island; sister, Cheryl Stoltenberg of Henderson, TN; and stepsisters, Chala (Brian) Coufal of David City and Jeannine (Kyle) Huffaker of Kenesaw. He was preceded in death by his birth father, Wilbur Gingrich; sister, Charlene Coppel; and faithful four-legged friends, Tank and Sherman.
