South Dayton – Theo M. “Teddy” Steward. 89, of Mill Street, South Dayton, formerly of Dunnellon, Fla., passed away, Friday, June 29, 2018 In Buffalo General Hospital. She was born June 14, 1929 in Upton, Wyoming, the daughter of the late James Silas and Mary Eliza (Wilcox) Steward. Teddy was a retired self- employed Home Health Care Aide in Dunnellon. Teddy was a prolific poetry writer, publishing a book at the age of 80. She spent enormous amounts of time researching… Read More » family history and doing genealogy, often involving family members in this endeavor. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor. She was often over-heard saying, “Aunt Teddy Says”. She is survived by her niece and care taker; Wanda Miller Zollinger, sisters; Colleen Miller and Sonya Chadwick and a brother, Donald Steward, as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husbands; Marvin Chapman and Clarence Webb, infant siblings, James and Beth Steward and sisters; Neva Nelson and Betty Miller. She was also preceded by step siblings; Walter, Donald, Norman and Claude Leach and Helen Sheldon and step father George Leach. As per Teddy’s wishes visitation will not be observed. A graveside service and Inurnment will be held at 1:00 P.M Sunday (July 15, 2018) in the Cassadaga Cemetery. The Rev. Brian Miller, her nephew, will officiate.
