Stanley R. Hoover, age 96, of New Lisbon, Wisconsin died on July 5, 2018 at Crest View Nursing Home in New Lisbon. Stanley was the son of Donald and Emma (Fobes) Hoover, and was born on February 6, 1922 on a farm on Meyers Road in Juneau County, Wisconsin. Stanley has lived in Beloit and Tomah, Wisconsin, with the majority of his life in the New Lisbon area. Stanley was united in marriage to Evelyn B. Scott, on August 3, 1947 at the First Baptist Church in New Lisbon. Stanley enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting and he attended the First Baptist Church. Stanley is survived by his children, Cecil Hoover of Farmington, MN, Charlotte (Keith) Singletary of Fletcher, NC, Joyce (Jim) Schroeder of Kendall, Jonathan Hoover of New Lisbon, a brother Herbert “Herbie” Hoover, three sisters, Betty Monahan, Alice Mitchell, Marian Meyers, 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn, sisters, Helen and Marie, and a daughter-in-law Diane Hoover. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday July 9, 2018, at 11:00AM at the First Baptist Church (525 S. Washington St) in New Lisbon. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at the First Baptist Church from 10:00AM until the time of service. Pastor Delbert Oatsvall presiding. Burial will take place in the Orange Township Cemetery. The Hare Funeral Home in New Lisbon is assisting the family with services. Online guestbook available at www.harefuneralhome.com
