Obituary for Ronald “Ron” Woolley Ronald L. Woolley, 79, of Rensselaer, passed away at his home at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017. He was born in Rensselaer on October 26, 1938, son of the late Thomas and Helen (Severs) Woolley. Ron graduated from Mt. Ayr High School with the class of 1957. On September 8, 1962, in Rensselaer, he married the love of his life, Ruth Korniak. Ron served in the Indiana National Guard for 6 years. He attended Indiana College of Mortuary Science and worked for Conkle Funeral Home in Indianapolis. He was an Emergency Medical Technician for 15 years. Ron and his wife, Ruth, established Rensselaer Monument, Inc. in 1976. Ron was well-known and highly respected in the granite industry. He was president of the Indiana Monument Builders Association for 10 years; treasurer of the Indiana Allied Council for 4 years; and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Ron is survived by his loving family: his wife of 55 years, Ruth Woolley; four children: Rodney Woolley, Rhonda (John) Parker, Robin (Scott) Nelson, and Renee (Chris) Castle; nine grandchildren: Riley Woolley, Reagan (Aaron) Woolley Shaffer, Abby and Lucas Parker, Haylee Nelson (fiancé: Mason Walker) and Hannah Nelson, and Gracie, Ellie and Katie Castle; and his sister, Beverly “Joy” Molter. He was preceded in death by: his parents and his brother, Richard “Rick” Woolley. Friends are invited to visit with the family Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 2-7 p.m. (CST) at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. A Masonic Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, December 11, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Steinke Funeral Home of Rensselaer. Father Tim Knepper officiating. Interment will follow at Weston Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: The American Diabetes Association, Saint Augustine Catholic School, or Riley Children’s Hospital.
