Epifania “Fay” Rivas Caviness, 83, entered eternal rest on July 27, 2018 in Spring, Texas. She was born in Hempstead, Texas on January 6, 1935. She was married to Fidencio Rivas on September 7, 1952. Fay had a career in nursing at hospitals and various doctor’s offices. After retiring from nursing she began her career in childcare in the Mother’s Day out program at Champion Forest Baptist Church. She had a passion for reading her bible, crocheting, being a prayer warrior, and shopping. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and a faithful friend.
Fay is preceded in death by her siblings: Nick Maldonado, Ignacio Maldonado, Gilbert Romero, Conrad Romero, and Lydia Gallardo and daughter-in-law Sissy Rivas.
Left to cherish her loving memory, children: Daniel Rivas & wife Kay, Anita Abernethy & husband John, Ester Reeves & husband Joe, and Joe Rivas; grandchildren: Nicole Rivas, Chris Van Tuyl, Kevin Abernethy, Steven Abernethy, Allison Rivas, and Hilary Reeves; sister: Sara Felan.
Visitation for family and friends will begin on Wednesday, August 1st from 6pm-9pm with the funeral service to begin promptly at 3pm on Thursday, August 2nd at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. Interment to follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
