Obituary for Mary Matilda Faraola Mary Matilda Faraola passed away peacefully on June 27, 2018 in her home in Santa Cruz. Mary was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 2, 1921. She moved to Santa Cruz at the age of 21 to marry Santa Cruz local Leland Faraola; where they raised 3 children, Tom, Frank and Lee. Mary was a loving mother and devoted wife to her family. She spent her free time volunteering at various church activities. She is survived by her two sons Tom and Frank, 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years Leland Faraola and her son Lee Faraola. Services will be held at Star of the Sea Catholic Church on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with a graveside committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
