Obituary for Marlys Dahle ‘Marcie’ Hawthorne Hawthorne, Marlys “Marcie” Dahle Age 94 of Edina. Passed away on June 25, 2018. Survived by only son, Jeffrey (JoAnn); precious granddaughter, Heather Hawthorne. Preceded in death by husband, Philip; brother, Donald (Helen) Dahle; parents, Selmer and Agnes Dahle. Marcie grew up in Minneapolis, attending Fulton, West High, and the U of M with her Tri Delta Sisters. She created Hawthorne Interiors, sewing fine home décor for clients. Her caring spirit led her to volunteer at the Governor’s Mansion, the Humane Society and Fairview Southdale Hospital. She loved spending time with her family and each beloved dog at the cabin on Eagle Lake. She greeted everyone to the last days of her life with her infectious smile. Her family thanks all of her caregivers who brought comfort during her battle with Alzheimer’s. Marlys cherished her times with relatives and friends. Memorial Service 4PM Monday July 9th at Washburn-McReavy Edina Chapel, West 50th and Vernon Ave at Hwy 100. Visitation 1 hour prior to service and reception following the service. Private Interment Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mt. Olivet Careview Home or Alzheimer’s Association.
