Obituary of Marilyn Rogers Mrs. Marilyn Sue Collis Rogers. age 77 of Talking Rock, GA passed on Tuesday morning, July 3rd, 2018 at Pruitt Healthcare of Blue Ridge, Ga. Mrs. Rogers was born September 6th, 1940 in McCaysville, GA to her late parents Charles Banjamin Collis and Donna Ethel Branton Collis. She was a 1958 graduate of West Fannin High school class of 1958, then she went on to serve her country honorably in the United States Army and later worked as a Home Maker. She is preceded in death by her husband; Carl Franklin Rogers, Sr.; sister and brother-in-law; Grace and Ray Strickland; sister and brother-in-law; Christine and Rev. Bill McGill; brother; Charles L. Collis; brother and sister-in-law; Robert and Marie Collis, sister; Alicia Jean Collis Williams, and sister -in-law Jenny Collis. Survivors include; sons and daughters-in-law Carl and Christina Rogers, Jr. of Ellijay, and Grady and Yvonne Chaisson of Ellijay; daughter; Debra Kilgore of Jasper; brother; James Collis of Inverness, FL; 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Military Funeral Service will be held on Friday July, 6th from the Logan Funeral Home Pavilion with Rev. Grady James and the North Georgia Honor Guard officiating. Graveside Interment will take place immediately after the service in the New Testament Church cemetery in Ellijay with Tommy Pagget, Michael Isael, Jason Morgan, and Dillon Stroup all serving as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123 in memory of Mrs. Rogers. The family will receive friends from 12pm until the service hour at 2pm on Friday, July 6th at the Logan Funeral Home. Logan Funeral Home & Chapel in charge of arrangements.
