Obituary for Maria Clinton Maria “Mary” Clinton, 75, of Astor, FL passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares, FL. She was born on September 16, 1942 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mary was a homemaker living in Astor with her son Charlie in a beautiful home in the woods where she enjoyed her birds and wild animals including sometimes the visiting bears. She was recently retired from her much loved job as the bridge tender at the Astor Bridge where she worked for over 25 years. She and her husband were active members of the Astor volunteer fire department for many years. She is survived by her two sons: Charles Clinton of Astor and Tom (Rachel) Clinton of Middleburg, FL; her sister: Beth McKeeton; and granddaughters: Alyssa, Sara, Kayla; and many cousins; and a great grandson: James Lee; as well as her pets Smudge and Gidget (cats). She was also known as “Mom” to many wonderful loving friends who will miss her greatly. She was predeceased in death by her parents: Walter & Eleanore Ludtke of Astor, FL; her late husband of 50 years: Chuck Clinton of Astor, FL; her daughter: JoAnne of Astor, FL; and two grandsons: Chase and Tyler.
