Obituary for Loula “Ma” Ashbaugh Loula Belle “Ma” Ashbaugh, 71 of Harpers Ferry passed away Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at the Jefferson Medical Center. Born December 11th, 1946 in Loudan Heights, Va, she was the daughter of late Erman Lee Breeden and Bertha Irene Cogle. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. Loula Belle worked as a nursing assistant at the Jeffersonian Manor. She was a loving wife, very devoted to her family as she helped in raising her grandchildren, and she loved her yearly beach trips with the children. She had a great sense of humor and was a wonderful cook. She is survived by her husband of 56 years Leo Donald “Pap” Ashbaugh, son Richard Ashbaugh Sr, daughters Lisa Ashbaugh and husband Quentin Threadgill all of Harpers Ferry, Alice LaCotta and husband Timothy of Three Forks, Montana. Grandchildren Richard Ashbaugh Jr and Wife Ashley, Mary “Beth”, Hayley and Eva Ashbaugh all of Harpers Ferry and Timothy, Jon, and Rayna LaCotta of Montana, great grandchildren Seth, Ian, Ryleigh Ashbaugh, Hope and Tazman McLaughlin all of Harpers Ferry. One Sister Zelva Utterback of Ranson, two brothers George Breeden Jr, and Loring (Anna) Breeden of Charles Town, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one granddaughter Amanda LaCotta, three brothers, three sisters, one brother in law and one sister in law. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6th at 11:00 am at the Jefferson Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Lynn Wilson officiating.
