Obituary of LaVern Creamer LaVern “Bernie” Franklin Creamer, 56, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Genesis East Medical Center. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. LaVern Franklin Creamer was born on January 18, 1962 in Muscatine, Iowa to George and Ramona (Bishop) Creamer. LaVern worked at the Steel Mill in Wilton and later was a cook and mowed yards. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, rebuilding things and especially spending time with his grandchildren. LaVern will be deeply missed by his daughter, Jessica Creamer; children he raised as his own, Susanna Smith, Jake Barkalow and Christina Barkalow; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Ramona Creamer of Muscatine; sisters, Georgia Wailgum of Muscatine and Tracey (James Buck) Peck of Muscatine; several nieces and nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
