John Jock Wilson McNair Jr 1938 2018

Obituary of John McNair, Jr. John “Jock” Wilson McNair, Jr., 80, died on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake after a long and valiant fight with heart disease. He was born on May 23, 1938 in Springfield, Massachusetts; he was the son of the late John Wilson and Mary Elizabeth McNair. Jock grew up in Baltimore, MD and graduated from Dartmouth College. After graduating, he worked for the International Paper Company and General Foods Corporation before having his own frozen vegetable brokerage firm in Salisbury. He was an active member of Rotary for 25 years and served on many of its committees. He was one of the founders of the Halo Vegetable Gardens and was the “hands on” manager for many years before his retirement in 2017. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Barbara “Susie” Baiter McNair, his sons, Will and his wife, Iliana of Austin, TX; Stewart and his wife, Amy of Annapolis, MD, and Sandy and his wife, Erin of Austin, TX, and five wonderful grandchildren: Lauren, John, Caroline, Richard, and Emaline. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jock’s memory to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21803 and The Halo Ministries, Hope And Life Outreach, P.O. Box 2227, Salisbury, MD 21802-2227. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A memorial visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, PA, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
