John Paul Garza 1928 2018

Obituary for John Garza John Paul Garza, 90, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Asherton, TX, on June 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Serapio and Siria (Pacheco) Garza. He was educated in the schools of Texas. John served in the United States Army from November 8, 1951, until his honorable discharge on August 7, 1953. On August 24, 1953, he married Mary Elizabeth Free in Marianna, AR, and together they moved to Kenosha in 1956. She preceded him in death on September 26, 2014. John was employed with American Motors Corporation/Chrysler until his retirement in 1989. He enjoyed watching TV, gardening, and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Survivors include his three children, John (Doreen) Garza of Kenosha, Sharon Garza of Pleasant Prairie, and Ralph “Mick” Garza of Kenosha; a brother, Mel (Jessi) Garza of Kenosha; four sisters, Susie Macareno, Betty Garza, Juanita Graza, and Paula Rodriguez, all of Kenosha; five grandchildren, Sarah Garza, Aaron Garza, Michelle (Kevin) Malkmus, Eric Garza and Laura Garza; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Malkmus; and his beloved dog, Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Garza; and five brothers and sisters. Private services were held.
