Jack J. Poston, 85, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018 at his home. Jack was born in Mount Vernon, Illinois on October 3, 1932 to the late Joseph Walter and Flossey (Edmondson) Poston. He graduated from Benjamin Bosse High School. Jack was well-known in Evansville throughout his lifelong career in the auto industry. As owner and operator of Star Auto Sales he visited Wolf’s Auto Auction weekly and had an eye for a good automobile. He proudly served as an Evansvilleā€¦ Read More Ā» Police Officer. Jack was a member of Order of the Owls, Order of the Eagles, Scottish Rite and the Hadi Shrine. He enjoyed collecting automobile memorabilia and loved watching old westerns. Jack is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Ary-Poston; daughters, Diana L. Timberlake and Theresa A. Conner; son, James J. Poston (Twana); step-sons, C.R. Cunningham and Phillip Cunningham all of Evansville, IN; and by four grandchildren. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Cathy S. Poston, and by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Pastor Steve Clayton officiating. Entombment will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery. Friends may visit from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Browning Funeral Home and again from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Deaconess VNA Hospice for all the wonderful, compassionate care they showed to Jack in the last week of his life.
