Gladys (Scott) Powers passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11:15 a.m. in her Warsaw home. She was 80 years old. Gladys was born on September 24, 1937 in Carthage, North Carolina to Robert Lee Scott and Swanie Ethel (Davis) Scott. On December 4, 1954, she was married to Charles Alfred Powers. They would spend 43 years together prior to his passing in 1997. A good kind person, Gladys was a hard worker who worked at Warsaw Plating on the zinc line for nearly 30 years. She was a caring grandmother who had a good sense of humor and would joke with the best. She is survived by two sons, Charles Powers, Jr. of Kalispell, MN and Robert “Porky” Powers of Warsaw; and 5 grandchildren: Angie Vanover, of Akron, Josh Powers and Scott Powers, both of Warsaw, Shanda Archer of Sturgis, MI, and Travis Riley of Warsaw. Also surviving are two sisters: Helen Connor and Barbara Waye. In addition to her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her father and mother, her daughter, Lisa Powers, grandson, Timothy Robert Vanover, and sister, Mae Pressley. Her family has chosen to celebrate Gladys’s life privately. No services will be held. Condolences may be left online.
