Obituary for Fern Lois Christenson Lund Fern Lois Christenson Lund was born on July 12, 1935 in Yankton, SD and departed earth on June 29, 2018 at age 82. She grew up in Rapid City, SD and graduated in 1954. She then went to nursing school at St. John McNamara and then enlisted as an officer in the Navy. She was honorably discharged as a Lt. Commander and went on to earn her bachelors degree in nursing at CU. She worked at Boulder County Public Health and the University of Colorado Wardenburg before retiring. Fern is survived by her brother, Jim Christenson (Rosemary), daughter-in-law, Cathy Lund; granddaughter, Briana Lund, and step-son, Donald Lund, II. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lund, Sr.; son, Marc Lund, and step-daughters, Alyson Rapen and Beth Lund. Per Fern’s request, there will be no services. Final resting spot will be Black Hills National Cemetery. There will be a Celebration of Life at Flagstaff Amphitheater on August 19 at 10am.
