Esther “Jean” (Watt) Fanelli, 81, of Avonmore, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Excela Health- Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born April 14, 1937 in Franklin Township, she was a daughter of the late David & Esther E. (Patterson) Watt. Jean was a 1955 graduate of Franklin Regional High School, and has lived in Avonmore since 1969. She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Avonmore, and member of the former Bell Township Ladies Auxiliary. Jean… Read More » enjoyed extensive travel with her husband Leon over the years and always liked a visit to a casino. But she most loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. “Bob” Watt. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leon Fanelli; children, Lee E. Fanelli of Harrisburg, Wayne A. (Marla) Fanelli of Hershey, Susan F. (Gregory) Palmiscno of Avonmore; grandsons, Justin, Nicholas, and Matthew; great-granddaughter, Madeline; sisters, Eva (Andrew) Bantroch of Apollo, Mary (Don) Walker of Leechburg; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 505 Cambria Ave., Avonmore, with Father John Harrold as celebrant. EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore.
