August 26, 1915 – July 17, 2018 A lifelong resident of South San Francisco, California, daughter of the late Pierre and Annette Fourie (natives of France), sister to the late Alfred (Margaret) Fourie, Claude (Lorraine) Fourie and Olivier Fourie. Sister-in-law to Gloria Fourie. Survived by nieces and nephews: Tom Fourie, Margot Giusti, Jerry Fourie, Claudia Ryan, Anne Paluch, Jim Fourie (deceased) Rich Fourie, Steve Fourie, Therese Glass, Bill Fourie, Mary Reimer, Denise Fourie, Nanette Willis, Paul Fourie and Julie Fourie. Many grand nieces and nephews as well as great grand nieces and nephews continue to be honored to have known Auntie Ellie. A graduate of South San Francisco High School and College of San Mateo, lifelong parishioner of All Souls Catholic Church in South San Francisco, 70+ year member of the Young Ladies Institute, a co-founder and later President of the South San Francisco Historical Society and recipient of the Historical Society’s first Lifetime Achievement Award. Second grade catechism teacher for over 40 years at All Souls, retired after 40 years from Reichhold Chemical Company in South San Francisco, and the most knowledgeable person on the history of South San Francisco for over one hundred years. A huge fan of the Golden State Warriors. Auntie Ellie was the most loving and wonderful aunt we all could have. We wish to thank Elizabeth Yu for her care and love of Eleonore over the past nine years. Private burial services. A public Memorial and Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 11:00 am at All Souls Catholic Church, 315 Walnut Avenue, South San Francisco. Contributions in honor of Eleonore can be made to Maryknoll Missions or the South San Francisco Historical Society.
