Obituary of Douglas Sanderson, Sr. Douglas H. Sanderson, Sr., 76, of Davenport, passed away suddenly at his home on Sunday, July 22, 2018 surrounded by his family. Born on February 22, 1942 in Sidney Center, He was the son of the late Harry G. and Eunice M. (Graham) Sanderson. There was a house fire in January 1990 which Doug had risked his life along side his cousin, Genevieve to save the life of his daughter Martha, son Mark and cousin Bryan. Doug was known as a fun and loving man, he was always ready to crack jokes and make everyone laugh, he was always willing to be there when you needed him. He is surivived by his companion and soulmate of 32 years: Brenda Wilsey; his children: Douglas (Evelyn), Bonnie, Douglas (Patricia), Martha (Mike), Mark (Ashley), Karl (Amanda) and his youngest Saddie (Bryan); thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings: Richard (Mary) and Patricia; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law: Rose and Jay; and an infant daughter. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held from 12-3PM on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Davenport Fire Dept., 15838 State Highway 23, Davenport, all are invited to come and share a condolence or memory with the family.
