Obituary for Donald Dwight Carrier Jr. Donald Dwight Carrier, Jr., age 90, of Bluff City, TN, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Holston Valley Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Dwight Carrier, Sr. and Gladys Marie Coalson Carrier; brother, Robert L. Carrier, Sr. and sister, Dorothy Ann Carrier Poore. Donald was a native of Bristol and retired from National Ocean Survey where he was an oceanographer and the Chief of Requirements and Facilities Section. He was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bristol, TN. He is survived by his sister, Shirley Taylor and husband Monroe; brother, Larry Carrier; and several nieces and nephews. The committal service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the Heritage Chapel of Memories at Glenwood Cemetery with Pastor Paul Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in Shelby Hills Cemetery in Bristol, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bristol Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 571 TN-126, Bristol, TN 37620. Arrangements especially for Mr. Carrier and his family were made through Oakley-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory.
