Obituary for Mr. Donald Coleman Sr. Mr. Donald Coleman, Sr., 64, of Peoria, IL passed away at 12:21 pm on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL. Donald was born on December 18, 1953 in Peoria, IL to Carlye and Dorothy (Robinson) Coleman. He married Armanda Shorty in Peoria on January 22, 1970. Donald last worked as a machinist at Plastek Technologies. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1972 to 1974. Donald was a stern but loving father who instilled life long morals and values into his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed playing pinochle with his “card buddies” and spending time with his trusted dog “Mr. Charlie”. Donald leaves to cherish his most precious memory his loving and devoted wife, Armanda Coleman; four sons, Donald Childs, Donald Coleman, Jr., Deondre (Taihesha) Coleman, Christopher Coleman, Sr., all of Peoria; two daughters, Kimberly Coleman of Kansas City, MO and Lisa Coleman of Sacramento, CA; one brother, David Coleman of Ft. Worth, TX; one sister, Marie (William) Austin of Ft. Worth, TX; twenty seven grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Darryl Hopson and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Lorraine, Carliss, Theresa and Lisa; and one daughter, Sonya Wilson. Donald, you will truly be missed! Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Simons Mortuary with a visitation beginning at 11 am.
