Obituary of Clinton Nance Clinton Callicutt Nance, “Dobbin”, age 80, of Asheboro died Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Randolph Health. Mr. Nance was born December 4, 1937 in the Hopewell Community of Randolph County to Everett Henry and Chloie Callicutt Nance. Mr. Nance hauled lumber from local sawmills as a self-employed truck driver. Mr. Nance retired from McDowell Lumber in 1997. He was a hard-working man with fine work ethics. Mr. Nance was a lifelong member of Hopewell Friends Meeting. He was well known by many and was friendly to everyone. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nance was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett “E.A.” Nance, Jr., Dempsey “A.D.” Nance, Ira E. Nance, Truman O. “T.O.” Nance and sister, Evelyn Stout all of whom he missed deeply. He is survived by his daughters, Carol N. Brown and husband Bryan of Asheboro, Lynn N. Jones and husband Dan of TN, Cathy N. Russell and husband John of Asheboro; son, Chris C. Nance and Misty of Asheboro; grandsons, Josh Brown, Luke Jones, Levi Nance, Reece Jones, Nathan Nance and Colton Russell and former wife, Becky Boger of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Friday, July 6, 2018 from 6 – 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro with Rev. Ricky Sessoms officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of North Pointe Assisted Living for the care given to Mr. Nance during his time there. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at Hopewell Friends Meeting, 2244 Hopewell Friends Road, Asheboro, NC 27205.
