OBITUARY Carolyn C. Reed December 25, 1940 – July 14, 2018 Carolyn Reed, 77, passed away after a valiant fight with cancer on July 14, 2018 in McGraw Hospice. Carolyn was born on December 25, 1940 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to the late Alma Hayes and Hollis C. Conn. She married her beloved husband, Pastor Michael W. Reed on August 23, 1963. They moved to Jacksonville from Blue Ridge, Georgia, where they operated Toccoa Wilderness Ministries for 26 years. Carolyn and Pastor Reed served at San Jose Baptist Church for eleven years up until Pastor Reed became a Missional Strategist with the Jacksonville Baptist Association in February of 2018. Carolyn was a true Lady and powerful Prayer Warrior. She loved the Lord, had a servant’s heart and was gracious and loving to everyone she met. Two baby boys and an adult son, Michael David Reed, predeceased Carolyn. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Pastor Michael W. Reed; granddaughters, Drue Ramanauskas and Parris Ramanauskas; step granddaughters, Austin Jensen, Landon Oldham, Taylor Womack and Ferryl Wynn. Seven great grandchildren also survive her. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at San Jose Baptist Church, 6140 San Jose Boulevard, 32217. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am and worship service to follow at 11:00 am.
