Carl Chief Cranford 2018

Carl “Chief” Cranford, age 80 of Hot Springs, died Monday, July 16, 2018. He was born on March 15, 1938 in Foreman, the son of Clyde Alexander Cranford and Mary Lucinda Murphy Cranford. On May 31, 1986, he married Phillis Norman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Zede Lawrence Cranford; two brothers, Clyde Drew Cranford and Thomas Davis; and one sister, Ruth Wright. Chief was a member of River of Life Church and was a retired pipe fitter. He is survived by his wife, Phillis L. Cranford; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles and Vivian Harden, Charles Andru Cranford, Rodney Dearn Cranford and Steven C. Garland; one daughter and son-in-law, April and David Cansler; two grandchildren, Marisha Crain and Matthew Harden; one great-grandson, Jayton William Crain; one sister, Virginia Gray Robertson; nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 20, 2018, in the River of Life Church with Rev. Lance Arguello and Rev. Benjamin Wiles officiating. Interment will be in Shiloh Cemetery, Amity, under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday evening, at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jack Henderson, Ricky Wehunt, Stephen Caravalho, Robert Arguello, Bill Roseberry and Paul Graves. Honorary pallbearers will be Chief’s River of Life Church family.
