William Danny “Bill” Collins, 74, of Metter died Wednesday at his residence after a brief illness. Born in Metter he was a son of Howell C. and Nettie C. Collins. Mr. Collins was a retired Machinist having worked for Grinnell and later for Briggs and Stratton in Statesboro. He lived in Metter all his life and loved fishing, hunting, and gardening. In addition to his parents, Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Collins and his brother, Edward Collins. Surviving are his daughter, Tennille Hendley (Travis) of Brooklet; two sons, Tony Collins of Register and Troy Collins (Serina) of Cobbtown; a sister, Luree Hendrix (Bobby) of Portal; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel. The funeral will be held Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 3 o’clock in the afternoon at Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel. Interment will be in Lake Cemetery.
