Little Valley, NY – William J Purdy, of Marks Road, Little Valley, passed away in his home, Monday, June 18th with his family by his side. He was born March 29, 1943 in Buffalo NY, the son of the late Edward and Marie (lamb) Purdy. He graduated from Randolph Central School and joined the Navy in 1962. Bill was well known for his ability to fix just about anything and his love of woodworking, tractor pulling and his tractor and Dodge truck. He is survived… Read More » by his wife; Rhonda L Purdy, his beloved dog Lucy and three sons; James R (Molly) Purdy of Little Valley, Ronald G (Carol) Purdy of Cattaraugus and William J (Amanda) Purdy Jr of Randolph, a brother Edward (Linda) Purdy of Ohio, eleven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Marie Purdy Sr and his son Michael E (Teresa) Purdy in 2009. At the request of the family there will be no visitation or services held. Family ask that Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cattaraugus County or University of Buffalo Jacob’s School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. The family was assisted by the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph.
