Virgil Roy Barefoot 72, of Hallsboro died Friday, June 1, 2018 in Liberty Commons. He was born August 27,1945 in Columbus County the son of the late Royal Barefoot and Hazel Pope Barefoot. He was a retired farmer. His funeral service will be at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Scott Lewis and Rev. Danny Williams. Burial will be in the Pierce Cemetery. His family will receive friends 2:00 – 3:00 pm Sunday , June 3, 2018 at Peacock Funeral Home. He is survived by two aunts, Helen Pope of Hallsboro and Margie Lanehart of Clarkton; cousins, Donald Pope of Riegelwood, Marion “Buddy” Pope of Lake Waccamaw, Glenda Pope Warwick of Hallsboro, Deborah Pope of Hallsboro, Mike Pope of Hallsboro, Junior Dew of Hallsboro, Geneva Dew of Hallsboro, Gladys Ward of Hallsboro, Josephine Pierce Campbell of Florence, SC, Iris Fowler of Wilmington, Jean Wooten of Clarkton and Gary Pope of Clarkton.
