Tom Edward “Tomcat” Godfrey Sr. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday June 3, 2018 at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for Tom Edward “Tomcat” Godfrey Sr., age, 69, of Hokes Bluff, who passed away on May 30, 2018. Brother Chris Walker and Brother Tony Holland will officiate. Burial will follow at Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery. Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge. Mr. Godfrey served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era, he was a member of the 572 Transportation Company they called themselves “Gypsie Bandits”. He was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church. He was owner/operator of Godfrey Trucking. He was a member of Hokes Bluff #470 Masonic Lodge. He was a hard working and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his parents: Hoyt C. and Ollie Godfrey; great-grandson: Lincoln. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Brenda; children: Tommy (Mary) Godfrey Jr., Timmy (Mandi) Godfrey; grandchildren: Chad (Emily) Godfrey, Colton (Alex) Godfrey, Luke Godfrey, and Will Godfrey; great-grandchildren: Bryson Eli, Eden, and Carlee; brother: Roy (Linda) Godfrey, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be: Chad Godfrey, Colton Godfrey, Luke Godfrey, Bobby Godfrey, Herman Godfrey Jr., Mike Stallings, W.C. McCullars, and Glenn McMahan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacks Round Table, Ball Play Beans and Greens morning crew, and Jerry Baggett. Special thanks to Hokes Buff First Responders, SICU at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, and Pro Health. Family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 12 to 2 pm.
