Timothy Glenn Murphy, age 56, of Sanford, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Liberty Commons Nursing Home in Sanford, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Cox Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Burroughs officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Edna Carter, 502 W Raleigh St, Sanford NC 27332. Timothy was born in Stokes County on November 10, 1961 to John Cecil Murphy and Shelby Marsh Turner. Some of the things he enjoyed were fishing and watching hockey but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and friend and will be truly missed. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Carter; children, Daniel Murphy, Dillon Murphy and Hunter Murphy all of Sanford; sisters, Teresa Norris of Sanford and Rhonda Murphy of Cameron; brother, Glenn Turner, Jr.; granddaughter, Kyleigh Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Cecil Murphy and Shelby Marsh Turner; brothers, Danny and Mike Murphy. Condolences may be sent to www.coxmemorialfuneralhome.com.
