Ruth E. Lampe, 90, of Beatrice died at the Kensington on Friday, June 1, 2018. She was born on May 27, 1928 at Beatrice and graduated from Beatrice High School in 1946. She worked and lived at numerous places around Beatrice her whole life. She was a former member of St. John Lutheran Church of Beatrice. She enjoyed golfing at Hidden Acres, bowling, reading, puzzles, crocheting and dancing. Survivors include one son, Daryl McCown and wife Lorraine of Estes Park, CO; one daughter,… Read More » Karen Baenziger and husband Steve of Lincoln; two step-sons, Kevin Lampe and fiancée Angela Lehman of Beatrice and George (Michael) Lampe and wife Donna of Crete; two step-daughters, Tannis Christ and husband Dave of Beatrice and Cathy Shultz and husband Ron of Rockford; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by father, George Carstens; mother, Johanna Diekhoff; first husband David McCown, who died on February 5, 1960; second husband Edgar Halterman, who died on August 16, 1974; third husband, George Lampe, who died August 31, 2017; sister, Larue Goodheart; step-son, Dan Lampe; step-mother, Esther Carstens; step-father, Fred Diekhoff. The body has been cremated and memorial services will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established to the Kensington. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
