Russell Elmer Mizelle, age 62, passed away at his home on June 16, 2018. Russell was born in Bertie County on March 29, 1956 to the late Ethan Elmer Mizelle and Mamie Brown Mizelle. He graduated from high school and went on to receive a degree as an Electronic Engineer. Russell was employed for 22 years with Channel 17. Russell was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Colerain. According to Russell’s wishes, he was to be cremated. His family and friends will be invited to a life celebration in Wake County and also Bertie County. His final resting place will be on the plot with his parents at Highland Memorial Gardens in Ahoskie, NC. Surviving: Friend and Life partner, Dennis Keith Barnette of Wendell; sister, Vicki Mizelle Davidson and her husband Glenn of Colerain, NC; nephews, Kevin Davidson of Colerain, Jason Davidson and his wife Julie of Colerain, great niece Hayden and great nephew Taylor Davidson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Duke Cancer Institute in Durham.
