Robert J BobSchriefPapa Bob Schriefer 2018

Resided in Saugus for 20 years and spend the last 15 years between his homes in Florida and Salem, NH. He sadly passed after a brief illness. Bob was the son of the late Corrine and Harold Schriefer of Lynn and the nephew of the late Ginger and John (Red) Tagney of Saugus. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Louise (Gauthier) Schriefer of Salem, NH, daughter Danielle (Schriefer) and son-in-law Stephen Ventre of Lynnfield, son Robert Schriefer, Jr. of Saugus, daughter Robin (Schriefer) MacLennan of Indiana, stepdaughter Pam Dyer-Webster of Salem, NH, stepson Shawn Dyer of Gloucester, and stepson Jason Murphy of Swampscott. He is also survived by several grandchildren, Brittany and Anthony Quarantello of Billerica, Brian, Erin, and Thomas MacLennan of Indiana, Michael and Nicholas Bain of Salem, NH, Kaden Webster of Salem, NH, Rylan Murphy of Amesbury, Aiden and Caleb Dyer of Salem, NH, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Bob was an avid dog lover of his adored huskies, the late Odin and Jasmine, and survived by Zeus and Nanook. The highlight of his day was taking them to the dog park to visit with all his special friends there. Bob was in construction his entire life and co-owned his own construction business for 20 years building homes, etc., and specializing in restaurants to include many of the Ground Rounds in the New England area. He spent the past 20 years as a construction superintendent, traveling the country building specialty restaurants for Cafco Construction, Shawmut Design and Construction, and RPC Construction. He loved what he did and hated to retire. He still spent the past few years building whatever he could, wherever he could, to include both his home in NH and Florida, even if he had to do it sitting down or taking many breaks in between. He was at his happiest building something.”MacGuyver” as his family and friends fondly referred to him, was always into making or “crafting” something. He took great pride out of mentoring and teaching others every area there was to know about construction, especially his nephews and grandsons. He had a great sense of humor and was sarcastic to say the least. If he wasn’t joking or giving you a hard time, something wasn’t right. He was in his element hanging around with the younger generations, boasting about all his crazy life experiences, especially how he broke all rules and still lived to tell about it. He cherished his years at his vacation home on Ossipee Lake and always wanted to find his way back there. He showed his family and friends his love of boating, snowmobiling, four wheeling, music and anything to do with his ‘toys’ and the great outdoors. Bob/Schrief will be greatly missed.
