Robert John “Peep” Casper, 66, of Washington, died unexpectedly Saturday, June 23, 2018, of natural causes in Washington Hospital. He was born August 19, 1951, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Chester and Margaret Bentrum Casper. Mr. Casper was a 1969 graduate of Fort Cherry High School. He was a veteran, serving with the Army. Mr. Casper was a coal miner for Consol’s Bailey Mine. He was a member of the Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, W Chapter, the American Legion Post 902 of Houston, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191 of Canonsburg, and the Palanka Sportsman’s Club in Houston. On July 25, 1981, he married Virginia “Ginny” Rice, who survives. He will me missed by a sister, Donna Cole of East Liverpool, OH, and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and his dog, Wags. Friends will be received from 2 to 4, the time of service on Monday, June 25, 2018, in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, owner/supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, will full military rites will be accorded by the VFW 191, Canonsburg. Interment is private at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the VFW Post 191 Honor Guard, 539 W Pike Street, Canonsburg, PA 15317 or the Washington Area Human Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty Four, PA 15330, www.washingtonpashelter.org.
