Nancy Moore Kirchner Loving Caregiver Waynesville-Nancy Kirchner, 78, of the Jonathan Creek Community passed away peacefully at Smoky Mountain Health and Rehabilitation in Waynesville, Tuesday, June 26, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Jeanie Moore of Hazelwood. Nancy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don Kirchner; daughter, Patty Kirchner Cooper and husband Dennis of Kure Beach, NC; granddaughter, Morgan Cooper; along with a tremendous amount of “adopted” children, grandchildren, and family. She had previously resided in Swannanoa for the past 41 years before returning to Haywood County in 2016. Nancy was a member of Buckeye Baptist Church in Swannanoa. She worked as a director of church childcare, as a caregiver for the young, and cared for many elderly family members. Nancy had the greenest thumb ever, she has kept her father’s African Violets and an array of flowers for generations. Her hands made many works of art in quilts for her family and friends. Nancy enjoyed life to the fullest, loved her precious family, especially her devoted husband. She truly was one of a kind, sophisticated, delicate “Southern Bell.” Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Smoky Mountain Chapel with Rev Ron Brown and Rev Mike Cribbs officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Burial to follow services at Greenhill Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Terry Bryant, Stanley Combs, Nathan Ingle, Amber Marsden, Tom Rash, and Chuck Smith. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Cooper, Bud Lewis and Bob Pruitt. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to be made to Gideons International PO Box 634, Waynesville, NC 28786.
