Margaret Archie Ratledge 2018

Margaret Archie Ratledge, 86, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Magnolia Gardens Extended Care Community in Spencer. She was the daughter of the late James Edward Archie and Ollie May Blackwelder Archie, born in Iredell County on May 7, 1932. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four siblings: Louise Archie, Tilton “Tick” Archie, Robert “Bill” Archie and Elva “Newt” Bass. She was a homemaker and attended Woodleaf United Methodist Church. Her memory will be cherished by her husband, Henry Arthur Ratledge; three sons, Dale (Heather), Ephriam and John Ratledge; one daughter, Phyllis Ratledge; two brothers, Charles “Pete” Archie (Beverly) and Gary Archie (Nancy); two sisters, Faynell Ratledge and Peggy Brookshire; and one grandchild, Christopher Ratledge. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, “Chica”, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 30, at the Woodleaf UMC Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Jasper officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the cemetery fund or the building fund at Woodleaf UMC, P.O. Box 299, Woodleaf, NC 27054.
