Obituary for Lloyd E. Wadsworth RICHMOND, Ind. – Lloyd E. Wadsworth, age 91, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Friends Fellowship Community. Born December 17, 1926, in Lynn, Indiana, to Clyde E. and Anna May Crouch Wadsworth, Lloyd lived in Wayne County most of his life. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war, Lloyd served as a deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department for many years and later retired from RP&L, after working as a maintenance supervisor and foreman for 24 years. He was a member of the VFW Kirk-Little Post 1108 and the American Legion Harry Ray Post #65. Lloyd was active in church and was an avid NASCAR fan, attending races at Daytona, Michigan International, and Talladega annually for many years. He also enjoyed boating, fishing, card games, puzzles, working on old gas engines, cutting the grass with his tractor, and going on long drives. Sometimes Lloyd and Sue would drive to a favorite dairy in Michigan for an ice cream cone, to Pennsylvania for antique engine parts, up to Greenville for Maid-Rites, or down south to visit family. Over the years, he had several parakeets and fish tanks, and he loved his cats, Chico and Cash. While living at Friends Fellowship Community, the resident cat, who Lloyd called Chico, would always sleep in his room. Survivors include his stepdaughters, Beverly Turner of Rickman,Tennessee, and Aunda Chitty of Georgia; stepson, Philip Houser of Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Bickford of Morristown, Indiana, Stephanie (Kaleb) Durham of Greenfield, Indiana, Kayla Goss of Richmond, Mark Houser, Scott Houser, Vicki Houser, Lisa Raco, Jeff Turner, Robyn Grable, Jeanna Pellicer, and Shay Wooley; many great-grandchildren; brother, Byron Wadsworth of Richmond; son-in-law, Don Goss of Richmond; nieces; nephews; and many friends, including Dave and Tami Stevens of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Sandra Sue Marshall Wadsworth, who died November 13, 2013; first wife, Vivian Ann Phenis Wadsworth, who died December 11, 1982; stepdaughter, Tami Goss; stepsons, Mark and Thomas Houser; and parents. The family would like to give special thanks to the Friends Fellowship Community for the love and care they provided to Lloyd. Visitation for Lloyd E. Wadsworth will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Faith United Lutheran Church, 4015 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Faith United Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert C. Meckley officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
