Life Story for Jack Wesenberg Jack Dean Wesenberg died peacefully on June 17, 2018 at the age of 81. Jack was born in Detroit, MI on July 28, 1936 to loving parents, Clifford and Betty Wesenberg (nee Weisse). He graduated from Denby High School in Detroit in 1954. After graduation, he served in the United States Army and the Army Reserves. He then began a long and distinguished career in the Print Advertising industry. In Michigan, he worked with many local & national advertising companies, Campbell Ewald, Leo Burnett Worldwide, Young and Rubicam, BBDO Worldwide & Ad Gravers. In Florida, working many successful, happy years with Graphics Illustrated until his retirement. He had resided in Grosse Pointe Woods, Grosse Pointe Farms, Lighthouse Point & Boca Raton Florida and on his beloved boat the JaCar. Jack was a keen athlete and an avid competitor throughout his life: as a Hockey Player, ice boater, bicyclist, handball champion, powerboat racer, sailor, boater, sculling & sports car enthusiast; racing his personal vehicles & Co-founding the Corvette Club of America in 1957. Building his own D.N. Class Ice Boats by hand. As a member of the D.N. Ice Yacht Club of Detroit, he competed fiercely winning numerous regional & international regattas, taking First, Second & Third place finishes throughout the 1960’s & 70’s. He was an active member of the Clinton River Boat Club for 44-years, receiving a rare Honorary Member Bestowment. Jack was a dear friend & mentor to many people. Above all, Jack Wesenberg was a loving father & husband. He is survived by his daughter, Jana Wesenberg and his sons, John Dean Wesenberg (Kesa Hopkins) and James Andrew Wesenberg (Jennifer). He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Caroline Joan Wesenberg. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Chas. Verheyden, Inc., Grosse Pointe.
