JANESVILLE— Harland LeRoy Hirschfield, age 85, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at home. He was born in Westby, Wisconsin on March 11th, 1933, the son of George and Sadie (Olson) Hirschfield. He worked for Carl Larson in the cheese factory as well as the gas station Friday Luce in Readstown while going to school. Harland married Martha Hiller in 1951 at Gays Mills Passage. He then worked for Kramer Bridge crew until starting his career with Ryan Inc. He moved to Janesville in 1980 to work in the office of Ryan Inc. retiring after 51 years at the age of 62. Harland did their drilling for 10 years following retirement. He survived by his wife, Martha Hirschfield; two sons, Michael Hirschfield, and Mark Hirschfield; grandchildren: Kip (Susan) Hirschfield, Trina (Daniel) Jackson, Paxton (Sara) Hirschfield, and Andrew Hirschfield; many great grandchildren: Kyira, Keaton, Imogen, Krimson, Kenza, Finnegan, and Presley; and many friends and neighbors. Preceding him in death were his two sons, Merlin and David; grandchild, Chrissy Bittney; three brothers: Gaylord, Odell, and Deloes; sister, Naomi; as well as his two cairn terriers, SheaRay and SheaLynn. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 2, 2018, at SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. A visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. The family gives special thanks to Allie, Paige, Lacey, Mark and the rest of the Beloit Regional Hospice Team. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Beloit Regional Hospice.
