Geraldine “Jeri” A. Henry, age 90, of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully at her home on June 5, 2018. She was born on December 8, 1927 in Lakewood, Ohio to the late Merle and Thelma (Doughty) Champ. Jeri graduated from Bexley High School where she was a cheerleader, captain of the tennis team and Homecoming Queen. She sang with the Ziggy Coyle Band which performed all over central Ohio, most often at Valleydale in Columbus. She also did some work with the Howard Gorman Orchestra. She was never idle. She worked while her husband went to law school. She was a real estate agent in Toledo, Ohio and went on to become a broker. She was a Welcome Wagon Lady and later sold Avon where she went on to become a manager in the Cincinnati office. She sold Mary Kay and became a Director. She owned and operated Jeri’s Doll Shop in Reynoldsburg, Ohio where she sold and made porcelain dolls. Jeri was a Duplicate Bridge Life Master and loved any kind of card game. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing, line dancing, sewing, reading and crafts. In her later years, she traveled the country with her husband in their RV and Jeri spent several winters in Florida. She is survived by her two daughters, Jacquelyn Dismuke and Jennifer (Chris) Whitaker; a son, David (Pam) DeVictor; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. Jeri was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry; a sister, Audrae Fleming and two brothers, Howard and Donald Champ. The family will observe private services. The Lasater Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the Henry family.
