George Hicok 1938 2018

Obituary of George Hicok George Hicok, 79, of the Lake Hopatcong section of Jefferson, passed away, peacefully, on June 24, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Newton, NJ on December 25, 1938 to the late Raymond and Virginia (Ludwig) Hicok, George has resided in Lake Hopatcong all his life. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-59. George was a Lieutenant for the Mt. Arlington Police Department prior to his retirement in 1996 after 30 years of service. George earned a Master’s degree from William Paterson University. George was especially fond of playing tennis, as well as softball and basketball. He was an avid NY Yankees and NY Giants fan. Survivors include his wife, Janis “Jan” (Kennelly), three sons, Kenneth and wife, Hilda, Gary and his wife Alissa and Jody Kutz and his wife, Patty, son-in-law, Rich Ekins and seven grandchildren, Jessica, Richie, and Sam Ekins, Ella and Nora Hicok and Leland and Darian Tabares. George was predeceased by his daughter, Heidi Ekins. George’s Life Celebration will include a memorial visitation on Friday June 29 from 4-8 PM at Leber-Lakeside Funeral Home, 150 Landing Road, Landing, NJ. Military Honors will be offered at 7:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in George’s memory to a charity of your choice.
