Obituary for Dorothy “Dot” Hollis Kalaidjian Dorothy “Dot” Hollis Kalaidjian, 95, of Greensboro, NC, passed away on June 12, 2018 at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Dot was born on October 10, 1922 in Chalybeate, Mississippi, daughter to the late William Hollis and Ellen McCarly Hollis. She graduated from Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi with a Bachelors in Music and later studied at the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. She was married for 42 years to the late Reverend William G. Kalaidjian. She was also preceded in passing by her son Stephen Brian Kalaidjian and by her brother David Hollis. Most of Dorothy’s adult life was spent in the Bronx, NY. She was a choir director at Bedford Park Congregational Church. Dot enjoyed reading and loved to sing and play the piano. She loved her family and was a kind and gentle soul. Survivors include her sons William G. Kalaidjian, Jr. (Debra), and David E. Kalaidjian; daughter-in-law April; grandchildren Krista K. Thompson (David), William Alexander Kalaidjian, Matthew Robert Alfaro, Katherine Alexis Alfaro, Ryan Stephen Kalaidjian; great-grandchildren William Pearce Thompson and Kal Armstrong Thompson; and sister Miriam Pritchard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Graveside services were held at Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Weddington, NC.
