Donald R. Williams, 91, passed away June 7, 2018 at 3:30 A.M. at Vancrest Nursing Home in Ada. Donald was born May 23, 1927 in Lima, to the late Oscar R. and Emma E. (Vail) Williams. On November 22, 1948 he married Jean Rosalie Neu who preceded him in death on March 14, 2017. He served in the United States Navy as a Seaman Second Class during WWII, serving on the USS Macon. He was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Eagle Airee #96 and V.F.W. Post #1275. Donald was retired in 1982 from Gasdorf Tool and Machine where he worked as a lathe operator and machinist. He is survived by daughters, Joyce S. (Thomas) Dodge of Ada and Karen (David) Brown of Lima; grandchildren, Scott (Teia) Dodge, Natalie (Chad) Leonard, Michael Dodge, Greg (Tiffany) Harris, Nicholas Harris, Jonathan (Kristen) Harris and Samantha Brown and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; son, David A. Williams, brother, Jack Williams and sisters, Betty Poling and Helen Shockey. Friends and family may visit Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4 to 8 PM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. The funeral service will be held Monday, June 11, 2018 at 11 AM at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. Rev. Todd Cosart will officiate. Entombment will be held at Memorial Park Mausoleum. Graveside Military Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1275. Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Hospice.
