Christopher Jay Thaxton, 55, of Asheville, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Mission Hospital. He was born on March 15, 1963 in Buncombe County to Thomas Preston Thaxton Sr. who passed in 2000 and Betty Jane Stout Thaxton. Christopher worked as a paralegal for a law practice. He is preceded in death by his brother, David Arthur Thaxton, who passed away in 2007. Christopher is survived by his mother, Betty Thaxton of Asheville; his brothers, Thomas Preston Thaxton Jr. of Cummings, GA and Michael Leslie Thaxton (Yulianna) of Winston-Salem; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to (NAMI) National Alliance on Mental Illness at NAMI North Carolina, 309 W.
