Obituary of Bryan Ringo Formerly of Canton– Bryan Conway Ringo, 93, formerly of Canton, NY, died comfortably at home among his family in Corvallis, Oregon on June 10, 2018. Bryan was born April 29, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri , the son of the late Lloyd Bryan Ringo and Virginia (Conway) Ringo. At the age of five, the family moved to Upper Montclair, New Jersey. On September 25, 1944, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He served 23 missions during World War II, as a navigator on B17 bombers and remained in service until his separation date August 6, 1946. His decorations during his service to the United States military were numerous. After the war, he attended college at Washington University in St. Louis, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1949. Moving back to New Jersey after college, he married Joyce (Kruger) Ringo on July 18, 1953 in Hasbrouk Heights. The couple moved to Canton, New York in 1955. Bryan worked for the Social Security Administration for 30 years from 1950 until 1980, retiring at the age of 55. He also served on the Canton, New York Village Board for many years. Bryan and Joyce had 4 children; Michael Kent, Peter F. (FKA Carol L.), Christopher D., and Timothy D. Ringo. Bryan was pre-deceased by his wife Joyce and son Michael. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia (Ringo) Cleary and two granddaughters, Elena R. and Julia S. Ringo. He enjoyed cooking, golfing, music, and was an avid reader. He was content to sit in his window recliner at his homes on Park Street and Pine Street in Canton, while enjoying a good book. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Canton, New York in August 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that people contribute to United Helpers or Canton Free Library.
