William “Bill” Franklin Hill, 85, of Glen Rose, passed away early on Monday, May 21, 2018, in Glen Rose. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1 P.M., on Friday, May 25, 2018, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street in Weatherford. Burial will follow at The Hill Cemetery in Lipan. Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home. Bill was born on May 23, 1932 in Lipan, Texas to Henry and Viola Hill. He proudly served… Read More » his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Bill was a carpenter by trade and doing woodworking in his spare time. He made countless birdhouses. He also had a natural ear for music and particularly enjoyed Bluegrass and could play any stringed instrument. Most of all, Bill will be remembered as a family many who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life – particularly time spent with his family. He was known and loved by all who knew him. Bill is survived by his wife, Valery; his son, Franklin Hill and wife Karla; grandchildren, Tiffany, Brittni, Logan and Garrett Hill; and by his siblings, Mary Chenault, Martin Hill, Margaret Eberhart, and Donna Ruth Chambers. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Sonny Hill and by his sister, Era Mae Bailey.
